ABOUT THE PROJECT-

Our Story
Project D.R.E.A.M was created to allow students continued access to the content areas that have been removed from many public schools. We specialize in art and music education as well as assorted cross-curricular fields like social studies, science, creative writing, and movement. All of this is given to both families and children via workshops and online events that are hosted at local public libraries and on our YouTube channel, "Project D.R.E.A.M With You."
At the same time, another important aspect of early childhood development is being removed from schools and forgotten in our communities, the libraries. As a part of Project D.R.E.A.M's mission we aim to bring focus, aid, and most importantly, children back to the library system where both the children and the libraries can benefit from each other in the way that they were meant to.
The Founder
My name is Caitlyn Maslar, and I am the founder of Project D.R.E.A.M.
I have been extremely passionate about education for as long as I have been pursuing it.
Seeing that important content areas that are crucial to child development, music, and art, for example, are being removed from the general education curriculum in public schools across PA is what led me to starting Project D.R.E.A.M.
When I was growing up, knowing how to express myself through color, song, imagination, and curiosity is what kept me from losing myself throughout the many hard times in my life. To think that there are children today who cannot express themselves in these ways because school has not taught or reinforced these methods bothers me on a very significant level.
I hope that through this project we can give more children the joy, imagination, and creative freedom to create their own identity, safe-space, and future.

Our Current Library Partners
Laflin Public Library
Nancy Coassolo, Librarian
In 1972 the original Laflin Library Association was comprised of 25 women who gave countless hours of volunteer work to support the various programs offered by the Library. These efforts continue today with a part-time Librarian and volunteers who assist in carrying out the Library activities.
The Laflin Library Association, which is a voluntary, non-partisan organization, administers the Library.Funding to support the Library is provided by the Laflin Borough Council who pays the Librarian’s salary, and an annual fund drive which is generously supported by the community of Laflin.
